On 10 September, we moderated the workshop “Industrial Symbiosis from a Technical Perspective: Challenges and Opportunities” as part of the LIAISE project. We brought together almost thirty experts from more than ten countries to discuss circularity and green technology in industry and cities.
During the workshop, our colleague Almudena Muñoz presented the INSET project, in which we have been actively involved since last year. Marta Muñoz, a member of the Materials Department, presented the results of our participation in the VINNOVA and AGROMAT projects, highlighting our commitment to sustainable industrial innovation.
Throughout the day, we explored tools for resource mapping, as well as methodologies for assessing and implementing Industrial Symbiosis strategies.
We organised interactive sessions in which we analysed the main challenges and opportunities for integrating circularity into industrial processes. The workshop fostered collaboration among academics, policymakers and representatives of the industrial sector, reinforcing our role as promoters of sustainable practices in Europe.
